Restormel: That's the way to do it? No, it isn't

Bodmin Town Council are considering axing the very Punch & Judy they organised to entertain children during the summer holidays.
The Women’s Rape & Sexual Abuse Centre has labelled them ‘appalling,’ claiming that they endorse domestic violence whilst encouraging children to view domestic abuse as a bit of fun.
Entertainer Reg Payn has struck back, insisting that the argument is ‘too silly for words,’ stating that it is merely ‘slapstick humour’ that children have always loved.
So strong was the feeling among the Bodmin based Women’s group that they distributed domestic violence leaflets among show-goers and heckled the puppeteer, Professor Goodvibes.
Michelle Griffiths, chairman of the town council’s promotions committee is pressurising the council to axe the show. She points out that domestic violence is on the increase and ‘The Council cannot be seen to be promoting violence.’
Mr Payn, 48, said that the protest was ridiculous, and pointed out that Judy often whacked Punch back.
The council will make a final decision about Punch and Judy shows on October 21.
