Restormel: Fines for Newquay NightclubA Newquay nightclub has been fined for serving alcohol to two 15-year-old girls. The two licencees Richard Taylor and Charles Law from Berties Nightclub were each fined £500. Both denied the offence claiming they had taken 'due diligence' in the measures they had taken to prevent under age drinking. The two girls were accompanied by three plain clothes police officers and two trading standards officers as they entered the club which has an over 18s door policy. Around ten Newquay nightclubs have been the subject of the covert operation. |
