Land Search for Cornish First Time BuyersCornish landowners are being encouraged to make land available for housing developments aimed at first-time buyers. Prince Charles, Duke of Cornwall, is using part of his estate of the Duchy of Cornwall as an example. Working with the Rural Action Group, Prince Charles hopes to identify areas where development could take place. He also aims to meet local landowners to discuss the scheme. Cornwall is the toughest area outside of London to buy a first home with properties costing six times the annual wage. Landowners will be promised a return on land that is currently not being used. However, many landowners have said that they might not enter such a scheme prefering to sit on their land until the value rose by the prospects of development rather than be badgered into a low cost housing scheme. |
