Overseas: Cornish surfers hailed as heroesTwo Cornish surfers are being hailed as heroes in Australia after rescuing a young woman from the sea and resuscitating her. Anthony Pullen and Rob Figures, both aged 18, had travelled to Australia to fill a gap year. The two men had finished surfing when they found a girl lying face down in the ocean. She was unconscious but had a pulse, despite the fact that her breathing had stopped. While lifeguards were arriving at the scene, the two Cornish boys turned her over and the woman coughed up water. She was then taken to hospital where she made a complete recovery. |
