The Mass was celebrated at the Catholic Church of St.Paul the Apostle in Tintagel Cornwall. The Feast of the Assumption of Our Lady into heaven was especially chosen to show where we believe that all our babies have gone.We pray that Mary the Mother of God will watch over our beloved babies. The vigil Mass was celebrated by Father Bryan Storey.Miriam Heidemarie Rosenthal-English served. Mass took oÂn an International look as the readings were read by two theological students from Romania. Deutsch born,Dr Miriam Rosenthal-English and her husband Myke read the bidding prayers in Cornish and English. All babies and their parents were remembered in the prayers. One member of the congregation was heard to ask Father Bryan "wasnt the second Vatican Council meant to bring us the Mass in English!".Our reply was didnt the Cornish Language die out in Cornwall due to English forcing the Bible and Mass oÂn them in English.Had the Cornish been able to keep their own language then of course the Mass in Cornwall today would be in Cornish! Many people worldwide who could not attend the Mass joined us in prayer spiritually. Three prayers in Cornish were specially written for this Mass. One by the Grand Bard of the Cornish Gorseyth himself-Rod Lyons. As the congregation were leaving the church, one of them,Patrick McGuinley, of Greystones,Trevilett,Tintagel, collapsed and was given the sacrament of the sick by Father Bryan Storey. He was kept alive until the Tintagel First Responders & ambulance service arrived by Myke Rosenthal-English.He was taken to Treliske Hospital Cornwall. The Tintagel First Responders and Ambulance Car arrived very quickly after the 999 emergency call as they were getting ready to take part in the very succesful Tintagel Carnival which was just starting. The ambulance from Camelford had to come via Bossiney as roads in the village had been closed for the duration of the carnival. Patrick died overnight and your prayers are asked for the repose of his soul.May he rest in peace. |
