Carrick: MADE IN CORNWALL FAIR FRIDAY 26 AND SATURDAY 27 AUGUSTAn impressive selection of Cornish crafts and food will be on display in Truro this weekend when the Lemon Quay 'piazza' plays host to the summer 'Made in Cornwall' fair. On the 26 and 27 August members of the successful 'Made in Cornwall' scheme will gather to showcase the high quality, good value products produced here in Cornwall. More than 60 businesses will be participating displaying a wide range of products including paintings, glass, pottery, skin care, greetings cards, wood turned art, leather gifts, books and jewellery. "Once again will be showcasing many of our talented artists and crafts people providing visitors with the chance to buy local products at great value prices", explained Linda Davies, Manager of the Made in Cornwall Scheme. "We are delighted that along with the established favourites there will be several new faces belonging to young artists and artisans." Amongst these is 'Treasure Trails', a family-run company by Steve & Teresa Ridd that uniquely specialises in the writing of quiz-based family walks. Their Trails take people out and about exploring their local area by searching for the answers to a series of questions based on historical and factual evidence - the Treasure Trails are a quiz and guided tour rolled into one! Also taking part will be Sara Rock and Dave Hansford of 'So Soapy' who produce a luxurious range of handmade soaps using only the finest natural ingredients, and Alex Simmons a young, talented artist working in oils to produce highly visual and entertaining works of art. |
