Penwith: CLLR RICHARD CLARK JOINS MEBYON KERNOWMK now has a group of four on Penzance Town Council Mebyon Kernow – the Party for Cornwall is pleased to announce that Cllr Richard Clark, who represents Promenade Ward on Penzance Town Council, has chosen to join Mebyon Kernow. He becomes the fourth MK representative on the Council, alongside Cllrs Frank Granger, Phil Rendle and Simon Reed. Cllr Clark said that the demands for a Cornish Assembly and a Cornish Regional Development Agency are urgent matters of practical politics which only Mebyon Kernow is determinedly pursuing. Speaking at the weekend, he said: “The Cornish economy can never flourish whilst strategic decisions are being taken both inside and predominantly outside Cornwall by unelected and unaccountable quangos. “Mebyon Kernow – the Party for Cornwall is driving forward an agenda to bring democracy back to Cornwall and to increase local control over those issues which matter to us all. We need to believe in ourselves and strengthen our ability to address and overcome Cornwall’s deep-rooted economic and social problems whilst protecting its exceptional natural environment.” Cllr Phil Rendle said the MK group was delighted that Richard would now be contributing his analytical strengths and enthusiasm to the party. He said: “Richard is an exceptionally astute and hardworking member of the Town Council and we are delighted that he had decided to join the only political party 100% committed to Cornwall.” JPEG photograph attached of Cllr Clark and his MK colleagues on Penzance Town Council.
