Carrick: SUCCESS AT THE VALLEY’S OFFICIAL OPENING PARTYThe Valley, a secluded five star holiday hamlet of forty-six cottages situated in the beautiful Carnon Downs, near Truro in Cornwall decided to reveal their secret with an official opening launch party. The Valley was officially opened by Debbie Smith, Head of Visit Cornwall at an open day and launch party on Wednesday 3rd May, 2006. The party took place in the stylish Café Azur where guests enjoyed exquisite sweet and savoury canapes including smoked salmon, quail eggs and mini burgers as well as red and white wine. The sun came out for the afternoon which added to the success of the opening, with press and visitors enjoying the surroundings The Valley offers, including Frank Twyning, Chief Executive of Cornwall County Council and BBC Cornwall Radio Presenter, Tim Hubbard. Guests had a choice of viewing the different cottage designs from The Haven, The Beacon, The Gallery or the Croft, which really demonstrates the concept of The Valley and how each cottage has been carefully considered to create the right feel. Julie Horsfall of The Valley commented 'The opening of The Valley was a very successful evening and we at The Valley hope to build on this success. We believe we offer our own unique contemporary brand, which mixes quality and style with comfort, creating the finest of self-catering cottages Cornwall has to offer'. Debbie Smith, Head of Visit Cornwall also said ‘The investment The Valley is making and the approach they are developing is exemplary. The Valley is a shining example of what can be achieved with vision and hard work. They are certainly setting the standard with an on-going commitment to building year round business and surpassing expectations. I am also delighted that they are using local suppliers wherever possible. The Valley is something Cornwall can be proud of and I’m sure that The Valley will achieve the success they deserve’.
