Camborne's Tehidy Country Park will play host to the 'Tehidy Dirty Double' event next weekend when runners and mountain bikers take over part of the site. Starting from 10am, entrants will participate in a run followed by a mountain bike ride, concluding with another run. The event is aimed at getting those new to racing involved in the sport, while the main event is more challenging for those experienced runners, mountain bikers and tri/duathletes looking for competition. The cycling element will take place in Oak Wood and much of this area will be closed to the public for a couple of hours on the day to enable cyclists to safely finish the course. However, spectators will be able to watch the event which will be cordoned off. Marshalls will be positioned along the route. The run element will take place in the North Cliffs Plantation area which will be open to the public, as normal, however the route will be marked by tape and manned by marshalls. Dave Clarke, Countryside Officer for the Council said, "This is the first time that an event like this has taken place in the Park, and if successful, it is hoped that similar events could be held in the future." The event is open to the public and is aimed at promoting exercise and healthy living. |
