Penwith: BUTTERFLY WORKSHOP TO BE HELD AT GWITHIAN GREEN LNR

A ‘Butterfly Workshop’ is being held at Gwithian Green Local Nature Reserve between 1pm and 4pm on Tuesday, 30th May .

The event will focus on beautiful butterfly species native to the area such as the silver studded blue - an endemic endangered species.

Local Community Liaison Ranger Sarah Byham said, ‘The event provides an opportunity for the local community to come together and learn about butterflies which are commonly found on this SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) – providing an excellent place to study butterfly species.’

The event will also involve a nettle patch safari, games and making your own butterfly mask.

Booking is essential by calling 01872 323468, as places are limited. Please bring sensible outdoor clothing and footwear and own refreshments.

The event is being organised as part of ‘Be Nice to Nettles Week’.
