Carrick: ST CLEMENT SPORTS CLUB CELEBRATE FOOTBALL FUNDING SUCCESS

Footballers in St Clement were celebrating today following a Ł77,719 award by
the Football Foundation, the UK's largest sports charity.

The cash bonanza will allow St Clement Sports Club to build their planned new
pavilion.

The Football Foundation is dedicated to revitalising the grass roots of the
game, constructing modern football facilities, developing football as a force
for social cohesion and as a vehicle for education in communities throughout the
country. Funded by the FA Premier League, The Football Association, Sport
England and the Government, the Football Foundation is the nation's largest
sports charity with a Ł45m budget going straight into the heart of football.

Paul Thorogood, Chief Executive of the Football Foundation welcomed this latest
funding boost:
"We warmly congratulate St Clement Sports Club for their hard work and
dedication in securing this award. Grass roots football is the lifeblood of the
game in this country which is why is vital that projects such as this now have
the benefit of Foundation cash."

Alan Morel, President of St Clement Sports Club said:

"This is naturally wonderful news for the club, and our many supporters, as this
grant makes our project wholly viable.

"I also think that it further demonstrates the great value of Jersey being a
County FA affiliated to the English Football Association, as it is through this
structure that clubs such as ourselves can gain access to support from the
Football Foundation."
