Kerrier: FALMOUTH POST OFFICE TO RETURN TO ‘TRADITIONAL HOME’Local MP, Julia Goldsworthy, has welcomed the news that Falmouth Post Office will be reopening at its original site on the Moor on 21st May, after several months of renovation. The announcement will allay fears, voiced last year, that the temporary move was the thin end of the wedge towards the Post Office permanently moving from its original site on the Moor. The Post Office temporarily re-located at the beginning of the year so that the franchisees could undertake planned refurbishment work. Commenting, Ms Goldsworthy said: "It is good news that the refurbishment works have now been completed and a date has been set for the Post Office to return to 'business as usual' at its traditional home. Falmouth Post Office provides a vital service to local people and I'm looking forward to visiting the renovated building.” Ms Goldsworthy has also pointed out that the branch in its temporary location will close at 15.30 on 15th May, so customers will need to be aware that it won't be open until 21st May, while the Post Office moves back to its original site on the Moor. |
