Cornwall Girls Centre of Excellence TrialsChanges to the Penzance LFC Girls' Section were announced at a Parents' Evening on Sunday, with plans outlined for the forthcoming season. The Junior Magpies will get their first taste of league football, with their place confirmed in the Cornwall U16 League. They will play Charlestown, Falmouth, Newquay and Truro home and away, with an additional cup competition. The U12s are hoping to play in the Kernow League, whose set up will be confirmed this week. The girls coaching sessions have been moved to Thursday evenings and will restart from August 9th. They will take place at Penzance FC from 6pm-7pm, to be followed immediately by the women's and U16s training. The Cornwall 'FA Licensed' Girls Centre of Excellence trials take place in the summer holidays. There are four age-groups; (U10, U12, U14 & U16) and all players are welcome to one of the five dates across the county. Budehaven has the first event on Friday July 27th, with Callington and Truro on August 1st & 2nd, respectively. Wednesday August 8th is Penzance, at the rear of the Astropark, with Helston completing the trials the following day. Meanwhile, the Cornwall FA Girls U16 League will have five teams in for season 2007-8, with clubs playing each other home and away, with an additional cup competition.
