Sporting goodies going going gone …. make us an offer!!Calling all sports and youth clubs! Do you ever find yourselves with fifty children chasing one football, sharing a racket in a game of tennis or constantly trying to make do with limited equipment? Would you benefit from some more sports equipment – but find yourselves with no large budget to buy it with? Then fear not, Kerrier District Council’s Outreach Team are clearing out their stores and have all kind of sporting goodies up for grabs! They have a range of equipment available including footballs, basketballs, netballs, rugby balls and volleyballs, tennis and badminton rackets, and hockey sticks. All they are asking is for a donation to put towards new equipment. Sasha Dobrota, Outreach Manager said: “We are having a mega clear out in order that we can restock with different equipment, whilst the stuff we are selling is used, there is plenty of life left in it and I’m sure it will be a great help to community and sports groups, grab the phone and make us an offer!” Councillor Loveday Jenkin, Portfolio Holder for Leisure added: “This is a great chance for local community organisations and clubs to add to their resources for the price of a simple donation, and for Kerrier to ensure that we can expand with new equipment for sports outreach across the district. I am keen that we should make good use of these resources and find good homes for them all, so contact the team and see what you could get.” Anyone interested should contact Dai on 01209 614449 for details and a full list of the equipment available. |
