North Cornwall: Cornish 'hate email' allegation doubtedArticle in the Sunday Mirror: FLOODING VICTIMS TAUNTED Extreme Nationalists in Cornwall are circulating hate-filled Emails celebrating the Boscastle flood disaster as a victory against wealthy tourists. "Mother Nature has risen up to show her feelings" says the Email signed Elise. "Perhaps houseprices will fall if outsiders dont want to risk their investment and we can get out county back." Boscastle victim Tracey Lane de Courtin said of the Email: "Its disgusting. Of course second homes have been a bugbear for a few years now but I,m sure the majority of Cornish people welcome visitors". +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Email was not signed "From a Cornish nationalist". There is no way of knowing if the author was Cornish, and even if the author was, he/she certainly was no nationalist - for what 'nationalist' refers to Cornwall as a 'county'. This looks like a usual set up and there may well be a fllux of anti-Cornish letters in local press now labelling the Cornish as haters English - which is definately not true. There is a Cornish patriot in Boscastle called Doug Johnson - and he has taken into his home the family owners of the big hotel that collapsed - and guess what, these people are from up-country.
