In the early hours Wednesday, 25 January, officers from Kerrier Council acting together with the Fire Brigade and the Police, carried out an unannounced visit to Rosemaber Farm in Breage. The visit was as a result of mounting concern amongst the agencies over conditions at the farm, which houses a large number of Polish and Lithuanian agricultural workers in an unauthorised caravan encampment.

The £30 million a year scheme means low income households in Northern Ireland will have their water bills capped at £180 in 2010 – a subsidy of £130 on their average bill.

Restormel: THE FUTURE OF PONTS MILL TURBINE IS SECURED


Cornwall Council and Restormel Borough Council have secured ownership of the Hydro-electric Turbine at Ponts Mill and the former Ponts Mill China Stone Works from the China Clay Company, Imerys, following lengthy negotiations. As part of the deal, adjoining buildings and land have also been taken over.
