The Tamar Valley Donkey Park is home to about 30 donkeys, many rescued, and most of which are on the site open to visitors. The park is set in the lovely countryside on the edge of Cornwall, close to the border with Devon, with breathtaking views of Plymouth Sound. In addition to the donkeys there are lots of other animals including goats, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs and pigs. Children can ride the donkeys and feed the rabbits in their warren, in addition to stroking and petting many of the other creatures.
The Park offers other family entertainment including an adventure play ground. Eeyore's Souvenir Store has a range of gifts to take home and it is even possible to “adopt†a donkey. Holly's Cafe offers both hot and cold meals and Cornish cream teas. There is also a picnic area for those planning lunch outside, and plenty of shady spots in which to relax.
Situated at Gunnislake, not far from the Tamar Bridge, the park has ample parking and facilities for the disabled. It is open daily from the beginning of April until the end of October each year and at weekends and during school holidays in the winter.
