Why the hell is there even a suggestion that Cornwall Council should be entitled to a day off? Thay are already overstaffed and overpaid. They should be working longer hours and staff cuts should be considered just the same as Birmingham Council.

This council should be abolished and the more efficient district councils reintroduced.

Ooooh Trevor. like many others in the private sector, here in Kernow, I work 90-100hrs/week, and will have to work on 5th March – and probably 6th and 7th too (no overtime paid btw!). Doesn't mean I don't support Cornwall Council having that as official holiday. Once they've all got it, might be able to persuade my own boss ! (HaHa, unlikely). You sound like a jealous Birmingham City Council workerWink

We get all sorts of public holidays, half of which I don't support. But hey, have to accept them so why shouldn't we have one for a patron saint? Sounds reasonable to me.Smile
