Just in:
As you have expressed an interest in the Census in the past, and may have attended previous Roadshows or Meetings, you may be interested to know that planning and preparations for Census 2011 is continuing.
Building on the consultations carried out to date, a series of all-day 2011 Census Roadshows are planned for November this year. Details of the roadshows, including planned venues and dates can be found at
The link: http://www.ons.gov.uk/census/2011-census/consultations/roadshows/index.html

A road show eh?
How about we get those 37,000 odd cornishmen and women attending some of these road shows for solidarity towards the cause

The Eng Nats have already made up their mind. There will be no Cornish tick box on the next census and the Cornish will be deliberately undercounted by a factor of four – which, along with a tick box for the English, defeats the purpose of having an ethnic/cultural background question of the form i.e. to identify where minorities are being deprived of due rights and services.

The Welsh managed to create rather a fuss when the same was done to them. Solution… Create a sticker to paste over the relevant section, which enables you to declare the fact that you are Cornish.

Another option would be to complete the 2011 census normally (writing in Cornish etc), but include an A4 sheet of paper with some large printed lettering along the lines of "Why are Cornish people continually denied any visible recognition!!!!"
There are some encouraging signs on the ONS site – a staggering 14 references to the word "Cornish". Most appear to be in relation to the 2011 census (I haven't had chance to read them all yet.)

No good – burn the bloody things in a mass burning of paper.

Burn the papers, or burn the ONS?
