Just an idea, why not carry out our own census?
Imagine how much it would cost to send out 500,000 packs, each with 10 pages and each needing printing ink.
It's fair to say that printing black and white text costs around 10p/sheet
10p x 10sheets = £1
£1 x 500,000 packs = £500,000
What we need to do is to start now and educate the people of Cornwall that they can put their nationality as Cornish.

Your thinking too big. Apart from the printing and postage costs, how many people could you expect to send such a thing back? I totally accept that such an endeavour would be a total waste of time, money and effort.
And maybe I should have used the word "survey" instead of "census".
I was thinking along the lines of a "street census/survey", over a period of say a month, get volunteers to ask passers-by a few simple questions. You could also use the opportunity to spread any necessary information at the same time.
Not only would it, I hope, give us the ammunition we would need to show the need for a Cornish tick box, it would also provide useful information for various groups in the movement to help them in their work.
Admittedly, I am just thinking off the top of my head, so to speak, but I am sure that the likes of MK would find such information useful, and could get involved in running/organizing it.

Everyone has their own particular part to play. No part is too great or too small, no one is too old or too young to do something. It is apathy that is the enemy of us all.

In the 2001 Census, there were 232,439 households given a Census form in Cornwall.
Printing cost for A4 is approx 5p.
This brings the figure down to about £125 000.
In other words, less than 25p per head, or 2.5p each per year over the 10 year duration of the Census timespan.
Accurate statistical data could be of immense value to Cornwall Council, the Cornish, and to the entire population of Cornwall.

That is a very reasonable I would say, it is much better to see if the need is there in the first place, instead of going around force-feeding something people may not need.

A census form does not need to be 10 sheets. One would suffice.
It's the old adage: if you can't get it on one side of an A4 sheet, then it probably isn't worth saying.

Why not simply put pressure on those statutory institutions that should have the statutory obligation to advise the people of what’s what with regard to the Census 2011? These organisations (allegedly servants of the people!) have a regular Community Charge, newsletter postal drop within which a formal flyer could be included. Now is the time to start.

STOP THE CORNISH GENOCIDE!
The existence of divergent views occur because the lies and deception have a more profoundly negative, and contrived, consequence for the Cornish people than for anyone else within the UK.

The people that pay this community charge would be more in favour of footing the bill for this flyer if they knew what it was all about first.
These organisations as you put it, will only brush it to one side as just the whim of a few, because that is what it is at this moment in their eyes, no matter how determined you may be,
What have you got at this moment in time to confront any organisation? A few good posting on C24 sorry that is not good enough.
PT has already said “Not only would it, I hope, give us the ammunition we would need to show the need for a Cornish tick box”
And the ammunition is the backing of the people.

YC, I think that you have completely, and regrettably, missed the point with your negative assessment. :-O
The flyer would be addressing something that the Statutory Authority had itself initiated for the 2001 Census, but had failed to publicise – hence the relatively low response to that census. There is no requirement to justify an overdue and outstanding financial commitment. They asked for it and, as such, have a direct responsibility to address the associated publicity to make it a truly meaningful exercise.
It is nothing to do with ‘what I have got’, it is about taking the common-sense political imitative that is there staring everybody in the face, by using the existing institutions already geared up do it and with a direct interest in the final outcome. May I reciprocate your point, however, and ask what you have got that could even begin to tackle what is required – especially in view of your opinion of C24 postings?

It may seem like that to you, and I appreciate your comments, what seems to
be abundantly clear to anyone reading these threads there is no organisation,
a free for all plenty of enthusiasm but no coordination
May I reciprocate your point, however, and ask what you have got that could even begin to tackle what is required – especially in view of your opinion of C24 postings?
A few good postings on C24 are preaching to the converted with a few exceptions.
What have I got? I have got a talent to motivate, before you come back,
what the eye doesn’t see the heart doesn’t grieve about.
