Teams will have stands on various beaches on dates throughout July, August and September, and will be handing out flags, car stickers and even free sachets of sun cream to promote sun safety. Children and adults alike can talk to them about beach safety and the vital lifesaving work of the RNLI's lifeguards.
The Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) is the charity that saves lives at sea.
More than 500 RNLI lifeguards will provide safety cover eight hours a day, seven days a week, on 87 beaches across Cornwall, Devon and Dorset this summer. The RNLI season began on May 1, but the organisation is always on the lookout for new recruits. In some areas, potential candidates, without a lifeguard qualification will be given the opportunity to receive specific training.
Holidaymakers in Cornwall will be able to view a brief film of essential beach safety information from the RNLI.
