I am coming up for my bi-annual review from my periodontist.

This is my LATEST periodontist.

My original tooth torturer was a a HOPELESS man. He was absolutely useless and cost me two teeth.

You see, some years back I broke my jaw. Nasty business a broken jaw. I had to spend 6 weeks with my jaw wired shut. At the end of it all, I went in to have the damage reviewed, assessed, and fixed.

Despite me having broken my jaw since visiting him last did he get a set of new x-rays? He did not.

Neither did he pay any attention to when I went back and stated I was in severe pain from where he had done his last work.

As a result, two molars where irretrievably lost.

I can live with that. What I found difficult to live with was the thought of ever going back to him again. So I didn't. And I spent two years with a major mouth infection for my fears.

Thank GOD for recommendations. I am one who always believes you should get recommendations. Unfortunately at that point I was only applying it to tradesmen and not health professionals.

My new tooth teaser is a sterling man. He is delicate or hand and caring. Whenever he reviews my case, he supplies, in advance, extremely strong anti-b's to ensure that any work he does, under my gum line, does not flair up to the severe infection I was let with from my last one. My teeth have now been sorted and are back to a normal state. I will not be losing the other ones that I was warned by Dr Useless would have dropped out by now. (They only would have dropped out by now if I continued to use the services of Dr Useless!)

Some dentists really should never practice their art. How I wish my old one would be required to take an early retirement.

IF any of you are contemplating getting work done on your mouth, please get references from people you know.

Perhaps 'word of mouth' will get rid of the few who are a discredit to their profession.
