I think that Kernow should have a national football team, a national rugby team, and any other national team in any other sport. The Cornish public should put a petition to FIFA, England and Scotland and Wales, Northern Ireland have special permission to play as seperate nations, if it weren't for the English inventing the sport they would only be allowed to play as Britian. (thats a fact, FIFA president sepp blatter said that) so i think that if Cornwall asked they should and would be able to form a national team, in the long run it may help for the push for independance. |

Graham hart is pushing for that sort of thing. "regularly play internationals against jersey, isle of man, and occasionally Ireland" But, we need it to be RECOGNIZED TEL Everything is impossible until it is not. |

Getting ahead of yourselves there guys. The first step would be contacting Cornwall County Football Association (CCFA) to see if they are open to discussion and whether they would support such a move. Here is the linky to the CCFA website and I'll send them an email enquiring about there position. http://www.corn...com/AboutUs/ I am awake at 4am to the terrifying undeniable truth that there is nothing I can do to stop the monster |

I don't see why they would not, after all it is the Cornish FA, a national team would only promote Cornish culture and attract attention, hence more money and so on. FIFA accepted Northern Ireland and Wales, They were seriously thinking of rejecting NI as it was just part of the UK, so they thought htat if they were going to have any team it would be a British one, or just ROI. Wales is closely linked with England, England cricket team represents Wales as well, yet Wales and Northern Ireland have their own teams. Catalonia has a national team, they even have a friendly lined up with footballing Giants Argentina, they succeeded in recognition, they are even sponsored by Puma and have a premier league player on their team as does Basque country (Gaizka Mendieta). I am sure Kernow shall do the same. The idea of a sixth nation football team is actually exciting. Kernow V England at Wembley, lol that would be interesting. edited by: Kéighlán, May 01, 2008 - 09:56 PM I may actually meet some of you lot from the forum now lol, im being forced to move to Cornwall. |

Here is a very good website, if Cornwall seeks to get into FIFA, then they should apply to this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NF-Board that doesn't mean National Front, it means...something football. lol can't remember the first word, something national...national football association. i dunno edited by: Kéighlán, May 01, 2008 - 11:30 PM I may actually meet some of you lot from the forum now lol, im being forced to move to Cornwall. |

The Cornwall FA should arrange some matches against other Celtic nations. How about the Brittany national team http://en.wikip...ootball_team or Isle of Man national team for a start ? http://en.wikip...ootball_team. |

No, better to try and play high profile teams such as....Belgium, Poland etc, maybe even Brazil...but i doubt they would bother playing you. No offence. Playing small teams like that won't get you recognition or help with your FIFA application. I may actually meet some of you lot from the forum now lol, im being forced to move to Cornwall. |
