wooooo! though I don't think my learning Latin or Cornish has had any success in either department. 1. Guys round here don't like it if I use a dead language to insult them, and as for Cornish they don't even know what it is. 2. If by work they mean not doing the work I'm meant to be doing and doing language learning instead, well, I'm doing plenty of that! Unfortunately in England... There is a New South Wales cornish festival soon Griff, November 7th, in somewhere called Nowra. They have an old fashioned name: Southern Sons of Cornwall, which you should put right. I hope you will have more luck there. I think it might have something to do with Wollongong Uni, which if I remember from the time I used to live in Sydney is just a few clicks to the south. Ooooh! Cornish Festival? I'm soooo there! Hmmm, the other thing about aussie cornish people is that they always seem to be a lot older than I am....which is a problem. anyway, why am I even thinking of that? I am perfectly happy! To boost the take-up of Cornish (not to mention the students' love-lives) what is needed is a good Cornish Phrasebook. (To find the "Phrasebook" sections you'll need to scroll down through each issue.) edited by: Jan_Knuckey, Oct 24, 2008 - 02:45 PM Yeghes da, Jan |

Yn Gernow: * Piw os'ta? * Ass yu brav an gewer. * Toemm yu hi. In Cornwall: * Oo aree? * Proper weather, inna? * Sum 'ot inna? In England: * Who are you? * What fine weather! * It is hot. In Liechtenstein: * Wer sind Sie? * Was für schönes Wetter! * Mir ist heiß. |
