In an attempt to stop the everso boring carping on about independence for Cornwall I am herewith suggesting a rename as above.

Whilst the bonny prince raids Cornwall on a regular basis it is in fact a plain and simple County of England and if common sense prefails it always will be.

The whole hearted enthusiasm for independence is commended but it has to be a total waste of time....it has little industry other than tourism and the cost of petrol could determine the level of that.

Cornwall is a beautiful county of England............lets keep it that way and become one of the famous shires!

Rgds 91261.

Well, its a fair comment, and apparently a widely held view, as Mebyon Kernow find out at every election. I would have been interested if anyone had commenced a reasoned argument to change the posters mind, but now I find myself doubting that there IS any reasonable argument.
Graham.

For as long as but a hundred of us remain alive, never will we on any condition be brought under English rule. It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself. ( extract from the Declaration of Arbroath 1474 asserting Scotland's right to international recognition as an independent country)
What's good for Alba is good for us - it's taken them a long time but watch out for the Scottish General Elections 2007 ! Slowly, slowly we can get there - language now recognised, calls by many in authority for our own assembly, existing recognition by Europe for Cornwall etc etc. Once the UK starts to break up which hopefully 2007 in Scotland will see commence, the whole rotten set up will collapse like a house of cards. Oh, and by the way Graham, I don't yet take drugs !
