Well, Angofbew, I'm not sure how many English people are 'scumbags' but its probably about the same proportion as the Cornish scumbags. I have had dealings with plenty of both types.
Despite that, and despite my background of being (mostly) a dear old law abiding chap, I too will display the Piran flag whenever I want.
Somehow, the bonnet of my car has become damaged. if I were a paranoid sort of person i would say someone had poured something on it. Never mind, its just a car. IF its too dear to have it resprayed matching, I think I will have it resprayed as a pirans flag.
Well said Coady. It's simply a sad consequence of modern day life. At the bottom end of every society is the scumbag level. My only hope is that the Cornish level does not catch up with the rest of the UK.
Well, if our definition of Cornish is 'anyone who lives in Cornwall and loves it' then sadly we already have a dreadful criminal underclass, heavily of English origin, but when they commit crime, the papers refer to them as a Penzance Man, Newquay woman etc. we are at the forefront of UK criminality, drug dependency, and social disadvantage. We didn't get Objective One status by happy accident you know!
It can be intersting, when chatting to all the English locals in your fave Cornish pub, to raise the subject of immigration, asylum seekers, loss of jobs, pressure on housing etc... THEN when theyre in full flow, bang the bar with your pint glass and say " Remember, thats just what us Cornish think about you lot!" Ok, I admit its easier when youre well over 6', big built and an ugly looking bugger, BUT it does make people think!!
In another thread we have discussed taking things out of context. Then Graham, ups and starts it all off again, well done Mate. You know very well that I was referring only to those who would deny us our rights, sigh.
Ah, Angofbew, thats the problem with using inflammatory language in the first place, its BOUND to annoy or upset someone.Do you use a term like "English scumbags", and expect no one to take issue?
This is the sort of think I meant when I said I USUALLY have a short break, then return and re-read my posts before clicking on submit.
Ooooo errr, thats me in trouble then. I am only Cornish by my place of birth (Womens Hospital, Redruth according to my birth certificate), spent the first 8 years of my life in the Helston area and my father being 100% cornish. Mother isn't Cornish, still she is not English either, which is something. :?
I think I pass the MK test though as my dads family are as cornish as can be and well back into the dim and distant past.
