Interesting, perhaps the economy is growing, but that could also be the result of more people retiring in Cornwall and spending their pensions.

True, I couldn't actually find the source of the figures the article describes.

However, I think there's still a long way to go.

I liked this bit:

QuoteBusinessman Kevin Williams is leading efforts to reopen the Soft Crofty pit.

The only reason why Cornwall is the fastest growing is because we're so far behind.

or the growth figures include Objective One influx, so when it stops the economy shrinks?

QuoteThis fast-paced economic expansion has been led by a new generation of small but growing hi-tech and creative firms.
Funny that, I've been arguing for years that this would be a good way forward...

No, stamping your feet on the ground claiming that the English are all racists is the way forward.

First time I have heard that suggested. Has someone else claimed that the English are all racist? must have missed it.

You know somebody who claimed that the English are all racist would be about as stupid as somebody who claimed that the 'nationalists' on C24 describe all the English as racists.

Surely it’s not possible that you are misrepresenting people for your own ends!?

The sort chosen by good Cornish folk for their company, a company which is creating jobs for the Cornish and bringing wealth into the county.

What's that got to do with anything I said, Strop? Typical of you to twist a comment to put your own spin on it.

It's a stupid, unpronouncable, instantly-forgettable name. It's a baaad idea for a company to have that sort of name, you don't see any high-street companies with names like that. If you don't have a name that easily sticks in your customer's minds, they won't remember you when they need your services.

Nope, you made a spin-laden comment about the company, not the name. But I digress off-topic.
