The shopping cart I'm using for The Pasty.com has just announced an internationalization feature.

http://jadedpixel.com/2006/9/1/shopify-s-checkout-goes-international/comment/96#comment-96

It would be really cool if Kernewek was one of the first languages introduced. It's not a paying job - just a cool thing to do.

This will get press coverage in the international IT and Web Design press and websites.

You can guarantee they'll say "..even Cornish" every time they mention the fact their store supports multiple languages.

If I can supply the words to be translated, does anyone want to translate them?

Not after much are you? icon_wink

Here's a few:

You're purchasing this : Yth esos ta ow prena hemma

Your Contact Email : Dha drigva e-bost

First Name : Kynsa hanow

Last Name : Hanow Teylu (Lit. Family name)

Address : Trigva

City : Sita

Country : Pow

State / Province : Stat/Konteth (Lit. State/County)

Phone : Niver pellgowser

You've got problems with phrases like: "can't be blank" cos you can't simply replace it with a phrase in Cornish, you'd have to replace "X can't be blank" with "Ny yll X bos gwag". You're OK with phrases with %s placeholders but other phrases won't always have a 'drop-in' replacement.

cannot be empty : ditto

is not correct : Nyns yw XXX ewn

Your receipt : Dha akwityans

Return back to store : Dehwel dhe'n gwerthji

Price : Pris

Total : Sommenn

Subtotal : Is-sommenn

Shipping & Handling (%s) : Maylyer ha lytherdoll (%s)

Tax : Toll

Shop Owner : Perghenn Gwerthji

For example:

For "is not correct" could you say " - this is not correct"?

Eg: " - Nyns yw hem ewn"

Is this right? Is the word to use for this "hem" in this situation?

You want: Nyns yw hemma ewn.

Hemma is only hemm before yw.
