Here is the great website of a Breton group who reconstructed the journey of a Celtic saint from Ireland to Brittany stopping along the way including Kernow.

They used an authentic boat from the time of Efflam and rowed the entire way.

Some nice pics and an interesting story.

I would highly recommend Tim Severin's book "The Brendan Voyage", where he and a small crew reconstructed a traditional Irish curragh and sailed to Newfoundland, following the text of the voyage of St Brendan. Severin knew his stuff - he had the leather for the hull oak-bark tanned at Croggans of Grampound.

Severin followed this up by sailing an Arab dhow of medieval design from Arabia to China ("The Sindbad Voyage"), then built a Bronze Age Greek galley and did The Jason Voyage (Greece to Georgia) and The Ulysses Voyage. All beautifully illustrated and I dare say that they're all still available.
