Quotethe reason Irish Travellers are protected is because you can't really mistake them for anyone else.

Once you remove their Caravan from the equation they don't come across that different to me.

 Taa daa!!!! We have a winner!

They have an identifying attribute. The Cornish already have one, namely being from Cornwall, but the farther you go back in history to quantify that definition, the more people you end up excluding.

Good letter but there are some spelling corrections needed! I think i saw "Objection one funding" somewhere.

I am suprised no mention was made of the prejudiced treatment of the Cornish flag as well.

Then you could point out the lack of cooperation from the government concerning the petition of 50,000 and what they did with it; details here: http://www.cornwall24.co.uk/Article683.htm

Jeez! It's incredible that people nit-pick about a failure to capitalise and, in the same breath commit a similar offence by failing to use a capital letter for the personal pronoun, "I"!!!!! Of course, I recognise also that "objection" is wrong but it just shows how easy it is to make a simple mistake!

I have read the link and feel that the person who wrote it should be congratulated! I wonder how many members of this forum made a case for Cornish recognition in such a clear manner!

Good question, Shaz. Has MK made a submission? If not, why not?

For Christ's sake - the FUEN Vice-President, being a member of the CSP, is hardly going to harp on about a subject which to them at least, is a complete irrelevance? Surely, there must be plenty in the 50,000, especially the leadership, who could have been bothered to argue that point? You can't expect the CSP to do everything!

C'mon, now - who on this forum has made representation to the government and to the Council of Europe about the appalling UK 2nd Draft FCPNM Compliance Report? It's no good criticising those who have made a substantial effort, if one is not prepared to do the same!

What about MK?

It would appear, from a superficial inspection of the MK web-site, that MK is not concerned about the UK government's failure to include the Cornish under the FCPNM in its draft UK 2nd Compliance Report to the Council of Europe! The FCPNM does not get a mention on the site:

www.mebyonkernow.org

I hope that I am wrong but I am having the greatest difficulty in comprehending this black hole in MK policy towards the Cornish people. Thank goodness that the CSP and individuals have not neglected this very important area. Can it be true that MK is content for the Cornish national minority to languish in the doldrums for the next 7 years? That is how long it will be before the next Council of Europe monitoring cycle will come around to Kernow again!

It seems, Fulub, that you should be directing your criticism to others rather than to the Vice-President of the Federal Union of European Nationalities!

My thoughts exactly. I received the letter late at night and put it up to the CSP site ASAP. Even later that night, after printing it out, I lay in bed reading it.

Considering that the original document holds such status - it is after all our government responding to the EU regarding matters that have a profound effect on Cornwall's future status - I too was dismayed somewhat at the response, from what is essentially THE MAIN CORNISH FORUM for discussing such issues.

I think the letter may even go down in history as one that totally destroyed a feeble attempt of a government to shrug off key political issues regarding a proportion of the people it's supposed to look after and represent.

The letter essentially exposes our government for what it truly is when it comes to it's representation of Cornwall. Dr Hicks should have received a shitload of congratulatory emails for his determined and extremely intellegent efforts to disseminate what is in reality a complete load of 'politically correct' 'spunout' BULLSHIT!

What do C24 viewers respond with? One reply which points out a spelling mistake!

Where is MK? Where are Cornish Solidarity? Where are the replies to this forum that say 'Here's what I wrote back in response to the governments piece of sh!t about Cornwall's national status??

Where are YOUR Ideas, thoughts, initiatives and actions which spring into your CONSCIENCE after reading what YOUR government are saying about YOUR nation, culture, heritage and FUTURE??!!

I checked out the BBC Cornwall message board today, wondering what issues, points and discussions I may find there regarding Cornwall's current predicament regarding this 'political scam'..

What did I find?

Five pages of crap discussing Big Brother, and it's latest 'RACIST' issue.

Is Jade a bad girl for telling a Pakki to leave the house?

Big issues or what?

There's people in India demonstrating in the street over that fat birds comments. Yet while you're all glued to your 'sets' tonight wondering whether some dumbarsed bird is going to get evicted or not, the future status of Cornwall is slowly but surely being eroded beyond repair by your corrupt government! Do you give a F-U-C-K Cornwall? Or are you beyond saving?

Wake up Cornwall! Your time is almost up!

Frenchie, I thought the letter by Dr Hicks (FUEN/CSP) was exceptional and pointed out just what you say above. To nit-pick small typos is ridiculous when considering such a document, as is spreading out (diluting) the content to include petitions and flags.

Congratulations to Dr Hicks and a Thank You
