Our version is now called Newquay Guardian, no longer "The Cormish Guardian" Does anyone know if this happening with all editions?

I believe so. The Cornish Guardian series has been hit hard by the Newquay Voice and now the St Austell Voice.

The Voice papers come out on a Wednesday and so the Guardian followed suit. The Voice papers are very local where the Guardian papers tend to have bits of news chucked in from all over the place.

So The Cornish Guardian tries to become more local by changing it's name. However, The Guardian papers are double the price of the Voice papers and the Voice papers cover more 'real' news - even if they are a tad right wing.

Any idea if the Voice papers are expanding to cover the West Briton areas too?

I know the people at the Voice, nice people, seems to me though that they don't like to upset anyone in Newquay, not much controversy. One of the photographers did say she is sickly at this time of year with all the nativity stuff, so maybe room for change.

I usually buy the guardian for the very reason that it covers more than just Newquay, just have to ask a shop keeper if you want to know what's going on round here.

Hooray for C24 ay

Shame to loose the Cornish in Guardian!
