Hello Guest. Here's a quick go but I'm struggling a bit. It won't make me a bard at the Gorseth but the general gist is probably there:

Friday 30/7/04: A Drunk man murdered a grandfather with a single crushing blow in Fowey on January 11. The attack hideous took place after an argument about beer? Daemion cain-Purcell, 23 years of age was found guilty of manslaughter. Patrick parkes, 65 years of age, hospital with an injured foot? Today, Cain-Purcell went in front of the Crown court in Exeter. The Judge sent him to prison for 5 years. They were shocked in Porthpean. Today the usual tranquil place was full of grief. Also so were the stars at the Daphne du Maurier fair at the Sawmills recording studio, and councillors and the police.

Not a bad translation, Mike. It took place in January though the actual date is not mentioned. The injuries were to the head. It goes on to say that town councillors are asking for increased police numbers.
