In an interview on a Welsh documentary, David Whalley told anyone thinking of taking direct action to get involved by democratic means, yet when the public vote overwhelmingly against a unitary authority, he and his council still go ahead with it. Call that democracy? What lengths are we going to have to go to, to have our voices heard!!?? icon_mad

I repeat from another posting :-

This is a serious suggestion.

Is there any way that we, the electorate can call a vote of no confidence in the county council leadership or indeed the whole of the Lib Dem contingent ? Whalley and the CCC are walking all over us and ignoring the people who voted them in :-

- cutting back on emergency services
- wasting money on bottled water
- unitary authority
- incinerator
- wasting money on a newspaper

What about one of those Downing Street petitions or can we get a petition in Kernow somehow online. Is it possible to set up a petition on C24 ? It needs someone with computer skills...anybody out there ?

Anybody in favour of this idea ?

Please note, everybody, that Cornwall's Lib-Dem MPs have started a campaign to oppose and control second homes. How long have they held their seats now? And they only just think of this?

This can't be anything other than an attempt to ingratiate themselves with the Cornish people whose teeth they have just kicked in by ignoring their democratic rights of choice, as regards the unitary authority.

Don't be fooled.

In last week's packet 2 lib-dem MPs and 1 lib-dem ppc were photographed standing next to an young affordable housing campaigner, at the site of Boscawen Woods luxury housing development.

The lib-dems claim they support the Affordable Homes for Cornwall campaign, yet the very land that Boscawen Woods is built on was sold to the private company by the then Lib-Dem controlled Carrick District Council.

The Lib-Dems have contributed to the Cornish housing crisis, yet are parasitic bandwagon jumpers the moment public opinion turns against them. It's too late, the lib-dems had too many chances, they've failed, their party is a disaster. Members are leaving in droves! Stay well away!

Mebyon Kernow is the only party in Cornwall we can really trust! Now that the lib dems have proven how untrustworthy they really are, i think MK have a good chance of doing well. They do really need to revamp their image though!

Cornwall County Council went through a 'a public consultation period' when they sent out biased leaflets to households in Cornwall. Most people failed to recieve these leaflets but those returned showed that 80% of the public were against a unitary authority! Yet.... they still went ahead!

You need to be clear, that was a poll not a public vote.

Yes, and what a poll ! It was so overwhelmingly against this move.

I know what you wished to convey.

However go making statements that are not correct. They will rip you to bits and make you look like you haven't a clue.
