Personally I like the US spelling system for English and I feel no real patriotic attachment to the British (=English) English orthography.

English is a funny old language, the spellings are mostly not said anything like they are spelt. I was at my friend Rafals house (he's Polish) and his father had the misfortune of having to teach his little kid how to say basic frases in English from card...things. The trouble he had saying ''yacht'' properly was highly amusing. When i told him it was said ''yot'' he looked at me as if i was mad, and when got the ''trough'' card...
