In your opinion, what would the EU need to do/be/look like for you to be happy with it, and call yourself a proud European as well as proud to be Cornish?

What do you think is wrong with it? What does it do right? What should it focus on?

I'm just curious as to what you all think the EU should be doing.

What, do you mean a totally independent Cornwall or UK? Either way you are dreaming. Little fish get eaten by big fish.

I am European becuase i have no choice in that, i was born in Europe. As for the EU, i shall say nothing on that other than i'd love to put cyanide in all the leaders tea. But Europe is a beutiful place with some great stuff, and i am proud to be European somewhat.

Who are these 'leaders' you write of? Where do they come from?

Assassinating democratically heads of friendly states is generally considered unwise.

I would suggest that the unelected commission would be a more appropriate (commissioners by enlarge being has-been politicos seeing out their incompetenet dotage at our expenses, Mandelson is the Uk one, enough said).

Yes FlB, so are the members of the SWRDA, etc, a quango is a quango,

they are political appointees whose interest is in serving their politcal masters and keeping their jobs, they are not serving the people who elected their masters

But I'm starting to think that it won't for us cornish, no unity, no leadership, but lots of factions, backbiting and esoteric language drivel

The Bureaucracy needs to expand to meet the needs of the Bureaucracy

Yes but you vote in the UK general elections as other EU citizens vote in their own state elections. The governments elected then cooperate and negociate to run the EU via the European Council.

If you don't like the result of the election in the UK thats just tough luck.

Are you against democracy?

No but I'm interested are you a British or Cornish nationalist, I mean no offence but I would like to know.

Kéighlán,

If its any recompense I think 16 should be the age at which one can vote.
