I agree, having heard this song at various Cornish gatherings, Agan Bro is definitely the one and the links with the Breton and Welsh are entirely appropriate.

I hope Bro Goth Agan Tasow becomes the accepted anthem - it would be good for all three Brythonic nations to show solidarity.
We don't have an official anthem here in Scotland either.
Although Flower of Scotland is sung ( badly ) at football and rugby internationals, it is just a folk song written in the 1970's and a rather tame one at that.
Robert Burns "Scots Wha Hae" makes my pulse race just reading the words let alone singing it.
It would be good to have something in Gaelic, but i don't think it would be accepted ( yet ).

Sounds great by the pipe bands - but too difficult for bad singers like me.

Jeez, one minute this forum is all "English imperialist", the evils of the UK's national anthem etc etc. Next I'm reading that Cornwall apparently needs a "national anthem"? Isn't a national anthem really just another little propaganda device used to evoke dubious patriotic leanings in the population?
The proposals I read here for an assembly, anthem etc are just a mini version of the Westminister model of government.
Given that the Scottish Parliament has been given only limited tax-raising powers, the Welsh Assembly none, what are the chances a) an assembly will ever be approved or b)that it would be given any revenue-raising powers? "Where the money goes, the power resides". No taxing powers, no point.

Since when did Parson Hawker write "Bro goth agan tasow" and when was the "Song of the Western men", or "Trelawney" as it is now known, go by that name aswell?
"Trelawney" is a stirring anthem which i like singing, but as for our national anthem, i'll go with "Hail to the Homeland".

Mae hen wlad fy nhadau yn annwyl i mi,
Gwlad beirdd a chantorion, enwogion o fri;
Ei gwrol ryfelwyr, gwladgarwyr tra mâd,
Tros ryddid gollasant eu gwaed.
Cytgan:
Gwlad, Gwlad, pleidiol wyf i'm gwlad,
Tra môr yn fur i'r bur hoff bau,
O bydded i'r heniaith barhau.
Hen Gymru fynyddig, paradwys y bardd,
Pob dyffryn, pob clogwyn, i'm golwg sydd hardd;
Trwy deimlad gwladgarol, mor swynol yw si
Ei nentydd, afonydd, i mi.
Os treisiodd y gelyn fy ngwlad dan ei droed,
Mae hen iaith y Cymry mor fyw ag erioed,
Ni luddiwyd yr awen gan erchyll law brad,
Na thelyn berseiniol fy ngwlad.

Well... as just about every National Anthem is supposed to be awful sentimental tuneless garbage, I suppose that will do nicely then.

I've never been happy about Bro Goth agan Tasow as it's a shameless steal from Cymru. We're capable of having our own. Song of the Western men (aka Trelawny) or Hail to the Homeland.

I like Lamorna, that's a more uplifting tune.
