Have been thinking about what would make up a Cornish triathlon.
I came up with 2 possibles surfing and a gig race. I guess it would have to be a team effort. Couldn't think of a third.
Any ideas?

I don't know but I did go and spectate at the Perranporth triathlon and I was impressed by the stamina of the entrants.
It was swim, a cycle and a run on the sand.
Many of the 'upcountry' competitors said it was the hardest one they've ever competed in. The surf was up and only 40 per cent of the competitors made it to the offshore bouy and back. The hills around Perranporth made the cycling very strenous (along with a stiff wind) and the run on the sand finished most of them off. I think those factors (most triathlons take place on the flat with a swim in a lake/pool) make the Cornish triathlon more difficult.
But rowing and other disciplines could be thrown in.

Maybe extreme pasty making where you have to make a pasty while surfing.

I knew it - someone would have to mention pasties.
Can there not be a debate about anything Cornish without someone mentioning the p-word.
There is more to Cornwall than flaming pasties...

I can honestly say I've never seen anyone with a pasty on fire, what are you talking about?

Hi all
We are professional event photographers and photograph all the "conventional" triathlons in Cornwall. Images from these events can be found on our site at www.kasstzam.com - the Perranporth Triathlon is available directly at: http://www.kasstzam.com/open/perranporth/gallery/index.html

If anyone is considering setting up a "non-conventional" triathlon please let us know and we will be happy to send a photographer to capture the event.
Cheers
Richard
