I think re-examining the KD document, would be helpful as they came up with two very elegant solutions for the short, stressed oe, one using ú and the other just u.

If I had the choice of no distinction between <o>/<oo> sounds and having to use <ú> with a diacritic, I know which one i would prefer...

Now we have an agreed SWF, if any groups or individuals actively seek to publically oppose it or bring it down, may they be ejected from the language community and forced to wander in the wilderness beyond the Tamar plagued with piles. icon_wink

The SWF will be reviewed in a few years time, so now is absolutely not the time to be ranting against it in public.
