This is the less well known view of one of Cornwall's most iconic beaches, Bedruthan Steps. Taken from the Pentire Steps end of the beach towards Park Head and looking back over the giant sea stacks that make this beach so spectacular.
All the main stacks have names. Here we see Samaritan Island, Redcove Island and Pendarves Island.
The beach's name comes from the legend that a giant by the name of Bedruthan used these stacks as stepping stones. However, it might be that this story was concocted in Victorian times to boost the popularity of the area to tourists.
