The Camel Estuary as it opens up between Rock and Padstow before reaching the sea.
On the right (west) of the picture is Tregirls beach with part of Rock beach on the left hand side.
You can also just about make out the Doom Bar, the sand bar extending into the estuary from the right. This has been the graveyard of hundreds of ships over the centuries. The legend is that the Doom Bar was put here by a mermaid as revenge for being shot with an arrow by a local fisherman.
