East Wheal Rose Mine

East Wheal Rose engine house in Newlyn East.

Built in 1881 to house the huge 100 inch beam engine (known as the 'Great Hundred') this is one of the biggest engine houses in Cornwall.

Unusually the chimney stack is seperate, located about 50 feet away.

The mine is now incorporated within the Lappa Valley railway site
