Looking back towards Polperro harbour from 'The Warren'. Polperro is the archetypal Cornish fishing village with whitewashed cottages on a jumble of narrow streets spilling down the sides of a steep, wooded valley. The harbour here dates back to the 12th century and thrived on a mixture of fishing and smuggling. Fishing was still the main industry up until the mid 20th century when tourism took over.
