One of the finest beaches on Cornwall's north coast, Porthtowan beach. Not only is this vast swathe of fine sand ideal for all the family, it is one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall.
This is the view west along the coast towards St Ives (in the very distance).
This section of coast was once the centre of Cornwall's mining industry. These days the only industry in town is tourism.
