Re: Pleased to see it, and good for 'Visit Cornwall'

This is a great way of advertising Cornwall and full marks to 'Visit Cornwall' Malcolm Bell is quite correct to add that Cornwall is part of England when promoting overseas markets - as many of these markets promote England as one entity. Being in an overseas market and getting inundated with Visit...

Re: A way forward for Cornish history and heritage

Surely someone closer the the Cornish scene than us in the diaspora could have ideas on this?

Re: Census forms survey

I think you'll find Cornwall will be added to England, so your entries will come under the England parts of the census. Hope this helps Crowsanwra. Almost there but fall short again - sorry no cigar! Some links below. Usually aggregated data (eg. England & Wales, South West (sic) will be released p...

I've now left 3 comments. none have yet appeared.

I was critical of the shallow journalism and lack of real stats from their survey, as well as of course Cornish invisibility.

Republic threat to Cornwall

The UK unionist group Republic has issued a threat to the people of the Duchy of Cornwall and their democratic right to decide their own future, be it with a Duke or as a republic. http://www.republic.org.uk/updates/?p=553 This dangerous campaign which is designed to strip 'an Duk' of his estate rev...

Re: ''Free Cornwall'' - 'Observer' article.

Latest comment by 'Trawleypen' has a familiar ring to it: "Interesting article. A lot of this Cornish culture seems to be recently added to the county's heritage. For instance Cornish kilts have only been around for 20 odd years. A generation or so ago a Cornish flag was hardly flown anywhere. I hav...

Re: Genetics and the Cornish

It would be great if someone in or near London could go to the exhibition next month and find out more.

Re: Genetics and the Cornish

Oh dear, one of my NY resolutions was to not get sucked into commenting on TIC, but I do have a look at times.

What total numpties the naysayers are. I laughed, and laughed.

Perhaps someone in/near London should be going to this exhibition in July and having a little chat about history to them.

Re: Stunned and Saddened.

Rugby TGG Rugby. Today's rugby is very professional - The Pirates are a professional team made up of players whom have made their careers in this fine game. Then you would expect them to act professionally as an organisation, and the coach, CEO and Owner to do likewise - largely they have not (whoe...

Re: As I said

Fair comment - guilty as charged! However, having a working website didn't produce more media coverage when it was working - why would it do that when it is working again? Depends on what you call media. These days judicious use of electronic media like web sites, social media, youtube, etc, direct...

Stevyn, there's no need to explain yourself, the majority here think the book is fantastic and a real asset to the language, well done! I bought it for my daughter Lowenna (she is a infants/primary school teacher) last Christmas - she enjoyed it and her non-Cornish husband was interested in the sid...

Obviously doesn't fit Googles algorithm.

Others like http://www.everyclick.com/kowethas finds it at the top (uses Yahoo), as does Altavista

Re: Make Cornwall Visable

As it's the Guardian, the most likely explanation is that "other" is just a misprint for "Cornish" I think 'other' means other to them. My niece lives in Edinburgh but still thinks of herself as an Aussie. The there are Poles, Yanks, Chinese, Jamaicans, etc, etc. I used my ancestral post code this ...
