A lot of pagans reckon that Samhain (Halloween) is the start of the new year, on the principle of a festival starting on the eve before.
We personally think of the winter solstice as the new year, as the light begins to return after that.

<t>Craig, it appears from the Cornishman report that PDC are saying they have no power to halt work. I thought they were a partner in the project - obviously cosmetic only!<br/> Also, did the "forum" come under Council Standing Orders and voting rules? I expect they will weasel out of that as well.<...

<t>I spent six months trying to learn UCR with a book called Kernuak Es, then we were told that it actually had mistakes in it (the book, that is) and I gave up in disgust, deciding that I would try again when a single form had been agreed.<br/> However, I saw an Agan Tavas stall at Lafrowda in the ...

Thanks, Craig. I am Constance, Grenville's partner - only had time to say hello last night as we were all cramming ourselves in!
Hope you feel better today. Take care of yourself.

Well done last night, Craig and everyone else. I had to leave at nine to catch my bus, so missed the vote. Jan Ruhrmund sounded quite shell-shocked by what she had heard! Good for her.
We must keep up the pressure now...

I spent six months learning UCR, only to be told (a couple of years ago) that the book I was using was WRONG. I gave up in disgust and decided to wait for the SWF.
Are there textbooks coming out in SWF?
