I grew up in Yorkshire, and can remember being beaten up at school because I "talked posh."

A lot of pagans reckon that Samhain (Halloween) is the start of the new year, on the principle of a festival starting on the eve before.
We personally think of the winter solstice as the new year, as the light begins to return after that.

No, it doesn't stink in the least, because anything that rots goes in our compost bin!

My boss (who is enormously fat) is always going off on Daily-Mail-type rants about her sacred right to have her bin emptied every week.
OK, there are only two of us, but we compost and recycle, and put our bin out about once a month!

Not to mention where you can be found enjoying a pint at lunchtime...

Well done last night, Craig and everyone else. I had to leave at nine to catch my bus, so missed the vote. Jan Ruhrmund sounded quite shell-shocked by what she had heard! Good for her.
