In memory of Rick Rescorla

On the eve of '9/11' I am sure many would feel it appropriate to recall the tenth anniversary of the passing of one of the bravest Cornishmen of recent times, one who whilst singing patriotic Cornish songs, saved the lives of so very many others with the loss of his own. It has been said that up to ...

Re: Who is to blame for its Decline?

All sorts of forums are quiet and falling away. They have been replaced by Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Chatrooms, video links etc etc and there are even advances on those. Forums were ok once but have not kept up. Facebook is very active and Twitter too. Even This Is Cornwall has about 8 or 10 user...

Re: Cornwall ignored in Carn

Hi there - yeah the Ed's job requires CL membership but not the printing contract which is currently in Eire and articles are accepted for publication from all manner of people especially Celtic language speakers, historians, book reviewers etc. Older editions of the mag are now on the main website....

Re: Cornwall ignored in Carn

Time after time down the years, the Editor of Carn who is in Eire has called for articles about Kernow in both English and Kernewek. MAGA have been kind to supply some but it has been the Scottish Branch which have supplied the most articles. Kernewek is sadly the least used of the Celtic languages....

Re: Cornwall ignored in Carn

Perhaps you had better mail the General Secretary. He is dealing with all complaints from Brittany and elsewhere. Pat has said she is resigning as Editor. I hope you send plenty of articles in including in Cornish !!!! Volunteers to take on Carn editorship are hard to find. The last Cornish editor l...

Re: Cornwall ignored in Carn

The Editor of Carn in Eire has been described as 'extremely upset' by these easy to make public comments and criticisms. I fully anticipate this will boil over at the AGM and there has already been heated communications received from an allied Breton publication whose director is 'annoyed' at commen...

Re: Cornwall ignored in Carn

Absolutely spot on Kevrenor. It is easy to criticise something but to contribute constructively a sight more difficult. Ultimately, the Editor of Carn, who is standing down this year after over 20 years of unpaid and voluntary work, can only use what she is given and the Celtic League makes it perfe...

Re: One & All - Monday 18th July - The Loic Rich Interview

Jed Matthews: I respect you for revealing your identity. No comments of mine will be withdrawn. A threat made against someone that lives hundreds of miles away is rather incapable of being carried out, don't you think ? Reading the 'tweets' which are of course irrelevant to me, I see no threats, mer...

Re: One & All - Monday 18th July - The Loic Rich Interview

Phillip, you really surprise us. And your suggested course of action may amount to harassment, an offence under the most recent POA. Consider that please. How dramatic. The Celtic League don't seem to realise who's in the wrong here. It was Loic who made the rather vicious and insulting comments. W...

Re: One & All - Monday 18th July - The Loic Rich Interview

I'm getting a bit sick of this! TO THE CELTIC LEAGUE IN CORNWALL. This is my first and last warning to you. Cllr Loic Rich insulted and threatened me via his Twitter account. I have all the e-mail evidence. I've been happy to let it drop after an initial complaint to DC police, but it seems you are...

Re: A Burning Question!

Don't bother. We've had a chat on Skype. We shan't be bothering with C24 any further. Our FB site with in excess of 1,600 followers is better and we shall be setting up our own forum in due course where absolute assumptions are not constantly questioned by those who believe the English system is bes...

Re: A Burning Question!

If I am to be banned from this forum for pointing out the wrongs to someone for making downright racist comments etc, so be it. Trying to turn the tables and make out these racist comments were a joke does not hold up, that excuse has been used before. I FOR ONE WILL NOT STAND FOR IT. Write in capi...
