Re: Diamond Jubilee

I notice that Cornwall is not the only place where he gets up to his tricks. The Radio Times write-up for a programme tomorrow says that he took out a bank loan for £20 million, about his annual take from Cornwall, to restore a mansion in Ayrshire, oh! and to build 600 new homes on the estate.

It's great news! There's 30 million quid of Cornish money Gideon won't get his sticky little fingers on. Now, what's next?

Re: Anglo Imperialist Olympic Air Drop Alert!

Apologies, TK, I read your piece before I read the Dan Rogerson original. And Marhak is right, it does appear that Rogerson has balls. It would seem that he has grown them since the last 'Devonwall' vote. I, too, will be will be writing to the noble lord, demanding an apology to the Cornish people a...

Surely, TK, the last runner didn't leave Cornwall until after he had crossed the Tamar Bridge, whatever the accursed Ordnance Survey might think. Don't go giving away half our river!

Re: Mebyon Kernow feedback wanted

Among the problems that MK has is the difficulty in getting its message out to the public at large. The local press, under the influence of, if not actually controlled by, the establishment, is reluctant to give MK space to tell people what its policies are towards the problems facing Cornwall today...

How many others contacted the BBC, as I did, to point out the error of their ways in trumpeting the news that Wales is the first country in the world to have a footpath around its entire coastline?
Of course, I may be on shaky ground if there is one around the Isle of Man!

I am sure that you are correct, and the conspiracy theorists among us would say that the surge of Cornish nationalism which followed that final sent a shiver up the spine of the establishment and was a contributory factor in the subsequent downgrading of the competition to its present junior form.
