Re: Who is Ellingham?
I know who Ellingham is. Nothing to worry about. He actually does a fair bit for Cornish activism.

Re: Adding Cornish to Google Translate
I've got a REALLY HUGE IDEA that will bring Kernewek/Kernowak/Kernuak into the 21ST CENTURY!!!!!! Never mind piddling around with notoriously inaccurate mistranslation software that's hardly more than a joke! Kernow needs its own COMPUTER OPERATING SYSTEM, like, a translation of the English Linux! ...

Re: Adding Cornish to Google Translate
I don't think he's saying that at all, Things. I read it as saying: if your Cornish is up to it, then do it. If not, then either develop your Cornish until you feel you can produce in it, or select another meaningful but related project. I don't see that as bitching at all, but as constructive enco...

Re: Adding Cornish to Google Translate
So, 'Things...', what I'd respectfully suggest from my own experience is, rather than merely dreaming about the HUGE things that might be achieved through other people's skills and sweat, that you concentrate on what YOU could ACTUALLY achieve through your own skills and sweat right now, or in the ...

Re: Adding Cornish to Google Translate
This would be great for the language, we need things like this to make it an everyday language capable of describing all modern technologies and situations instead of the Celtic monastic language some would prefer it to remain. Re: Adding Cornish to Google Translate
Many Welsh periodicals have a column of the hilarious howlers perpetrated by GoogleTranslate. Sometimes, the versions it perpetrates are not just hilarious, but occasionally dangerously inaccurate. The thing needs a great deal more work on it before it can be let loose on an unsuspecting public. Th...

Re: Adding Cornish to Google Translate
Right here's another link. It appears that creatin each language is semi-automated, based upon similar texts being available in multiple laguages. Howeveer we can hepl by doing some inline translations using Google's tools on as many websites as possible. Either that or adding glossaries to the Goog...

Re: Adding Cornish to Google Translate
So dismiss it, forget it and move on 'cause obviously it's much better to have nothing there at all than something resembling and representing Cornish. This is a HUGE opportunity! I see the Welsh haven't bothered about disputes or orthographies. they have something resembling their language represen...

Re: Real Cornwall TV - new Internet TV Channel
I don't think you can convince anyon Mike. It's up to MyCornwall and Dorian to show that they can respect the Cornish and their history and culture. I tried very hard to convince everyone that MyCornwall were going to do real good and make a huge difference. Having worked for them you would think I'...

Re: Real Cornwall TV - new Internet TV Channel
If they are rebranding through this then I'd love to see them do right.
I'd have no problem with them if they turned themselves around. Infact I'd offer my services again!

Re: Real Cornwall TV - new Internet TV Channel
Sorry Mike but they've done a lot to undermine the Cornish. I supported them and defended them in the beginning. I even worked for them unpaid for a couple of months because I believed that this was the breakthrough and voice that Cornwall and her people had been waiting for and I really wanted to h...

Re: Real Cornwall TV - new Internet TV Channel
I'm sorry Mike I had this convrsation with Kat aswell but having worked for them and seen all of their "well intentioned plans" completely disregarded I have little faith in MyCornwall doing any good.
They've gone against everything they promised.
