Re: The organic myth of the British constitution

1. Natural Law. The highest law there is. No man or Wom(b)an can come between You and your Creator, who has granted you upon arrival on this planet, Life, Liberty and Property. Who is your creator Graham? I arrived on this plant through a collection of hazardous events known as evolution. As such, ...

Re: The organic myth of the British constitution

Actually Parliamentary sovereignty extends everywhere. Parliament can, in theory, 'ban smoking on the streets of Paris'. Of course enforcing this would be a problem - never mind the international furore! Stephen, In the same way (as I think Graham is suggesting) I could declare myself sovereign and...

Re: The organic myth of the British constitution

Parliament is considered sovereign and no parliament can bind it's successors, so anything can be repealed, nothing is sacred, there are no special hurdles for 'constitutional' amendments as e.g. in the USA. What is the territory associated with this parliamentary sovereignty? Clearly it does not e...

The Golden Country: the organic myth of the British constitution : http://www.opendemocracy.net/ourkingdom/michael-gardiner/golden-country-organic-myth-of-british-constitution Britain’s raison d’état is as an investment entity, a guarantor of global money. Myth busting for Mebyon Kernow

Trying to write a post about MK myths. I think I've got most here. Have I missed any?: 1) MK advocates Cornwall for the Cornish and is a xenophobic, right-wing party. MK, by nature, is anti-English. 2) MK is linked with pasty bombers and house burners. 3) MK is a one issue party that has no other re...

Re: Will UKIP score in Cornwall?

Sad but probably right. Brain dead populism certainly does appeal to those who feel completely left behind and submerged by the big questions of our day. Why think long and hard about things when you can just stamp your foot and shout?

Breizh United - promoting Breton unity

After a previous post on An Omsav / The Cornish Republican blog about the very minor Breton far-right here is something that is far more positive: http://thecornishrepublican.blogspot.fr/2013/04/breizh-united-promoting-breton-unity.html Before the French presidential elections so much was promised t...

The left-of-Labour vote in Cornwall

The Left Vote is a site dedicated to highlighting the election campaigns of those to the left of the stifling Westminster consensus. It is not affiliated to any left grouping, will no doubt promote flawed or controversial candidates alongside sound and solid ones. We’re not here to judge, although ...

What does Cornish self-determination mean to you?

What does Cornish self-determination mean to you? What does Cornish political autonomy mean if culturally and economically we are dependent on others? If we had our own parliament but all our industries were owned and run by companies from outside the Duchy what good would it be? If we had an assemb...

Labour attempts to misrepresent Mebyon Kernow

How should an election be fought? When a candidate knocks on your door do you want to hear facts or do you prefer good old mudslinging? Of course nobody wants to stand on their doorstep and hear a long list of of facts and figures that are often of questionable origins and if you are unfortunately a...

Fascist Alert! - The Breton far-right

Below is a list of Breton far-right organisations and websites. These groups have well documented links to fascists and violent criminals from around Europe. After careful consideration it has been decided to blog about them here following the logic of the wise adage forewarned is forearmed. Equally...

Will UKIP score in Cornwall?

With the BNP and English Democrats in a race to the bottom and LibLabCon evermore unpopular it looks more and more likely that UKIP will sweep up the "feck the lot of you" vote. Offering very simple responses to very complex questions, UKIP appeal to all those you don't want or can't think in detail...
