St Piran in Penwith celebrations

On Thursday 4th March, 2010, 100 schoolchildren together with St. Buryan Male Voice Choir will put on a concert in honour of St. Piran at 7.00pm in St John’s Hall, PZ.

On Friday 5th March, ST. PIRAN’S DAY, 700 local schoolchildren will dance through the streets of PZ.

Leaving St. John’s Hall at 10.00 am
Procession starts at the top of Causewayhead at 10.30
Cross in front of Lloyds Bank, turn R, past The Acorn
Turn L through Morrab Gardens, turn R up Morrab Road
Turn L and return to St John’s Hall for saffron buns & drinx.

The procession will be led this year by a group of Breton-
Speaking children from (obviously) Brittany.

Marazion on 5th March 2010 …
At 5.30 pm a procession, led by the Mayor of Marazion will
go from the Town Hall to the Gwelva, where, over-looking the
sea, children from the local Primary School will sing in a
brief dedication service to our Patron Saint, St. Piran.
This is followed by a St Piran’s Party in the Cutty Sark hotel.
